French Revolution and Napoleon.
Louis XlV was married to Mary Antoinette and they were careless leaders and spent to much money on nonsense items and gambling that they put their government into debt. The estates and the Estates-general was an attempt to get the money back. Their people were furious and attacked the Bastille. This is what started the French Revolution. Maximilian Robespierre was a Jacobin leader that ruled France for a year. He was a good ruler but he soon turned and thats what started his reign of terror. Robespierre's rule which involved many opponents. He used the Guillotine. It was a machine that was fast and efficient in killing them by quickly chopping off their head. In the end of his terror, Robespierre was arrested and executed by the guillotine and Napoleon Bonaparte is made commander of the armies by a new government.
Napoleon was a smart commander and knew how to take power. He carried put coup de tat. Which is seizures of wars to get power. Before Bonaparte the directory paved a way for him to come in. Nationalism was the economic system during this because it brings major momentum and binds the nation together. Napoleon led his army into Russia but just within 6 months of being there, him and his army could not take the cold weather and the Russian assaults and lost the battle. Known as Invasion of Russia.
The Duke of Wellington is well known being a great military leader. He fought in the Peninsular War and best known for leading the allies against Napoleon during the battle of Waterloo. The congress of Vienna was held by four European leaders that had defeated Napoleon. The continental system was introduced by Napoleon to bankrupt Great Britain by destroying its trade. The mission was at first working but eventually failed Bonaparte.
