Middle Ages 500-1500 A.D.
During the middles ages there was a great decline of learning. Under Gregory, church becomes secular. Which means the Government and the Church are equal. The Christendom is built, a churchly kingdom outside of Rome. Followers of the church are Christian. The church is very big at this time and people are going as many as 7 days a week.
In 1347 the bubonic plague strikes Europe wiping out two thirds of the population. It first hits Sicily and within 5 years all of Europe. The black death was spread quickly due to the silk road. The silk road was a trading road. They commerced larges goods at a time. The black death was a very contagious disease killing its victims within hours.
During the middle ages Jews were killed by the thousands in German cities. Over 200 Jewish communities destroyed in Europe. Jerusalem was considered to be the Holy Land. There were crusades sent out to retrieve what belonged to them. Crusades are holy wars. Pope Urban ll was the one who sent out the Christians and Islam's to get their Holy Land back.
