The Industrial Revolution.
The Industrial Revolution began in Europe and quickly spread to other countries. The Industrial Revolution greatly increases out of machine made goods. The revolution begins in England in the middle of the 1700s. During this time everything that was made by hand soon was made by machine, this is called industrialization. Since everything became about machines, factories were built. Buildings that contain machinery for manufacturing. Machines like the "Spinning Jenny" made a faster and cheaper way to make textiles like clothing.
The railroad is invented, giving people an easier way for travel. People began moving to urban areas, the city, rather than living in the rural areas, outskirts, because the railroad is a cheap way to travel. Lucky for the people during the industrial revolution, they had plenty of natural resources. Especially for the factories since they needed a large amount of coal and iron to keep it going. Other than that, rubber, cotton and water were also other natural resources.
There was a lot of controversy over economic systems. Nationalism, Communism, Capitalism, Anarchism, and Socialism.

- Nationalism, domestic control of the economy
- Communism, society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
- Capitalism, based on ownership of 'means or production'.
- Anarchism, a belief that government and laws are not necessary.
- Socialism, society takes care of the individual.
